Protests at Quantico for Bradley Manning

At least 3 maybe 4 thousand people came together to protest the treatment of Bradley Manning.

Daniel Ellsberg was particularly poignant as he said that he wished he had done earlier, what he had accomplished with the release of the Pentagon Papers.  He, too, had been threatened with many many years in prison.  Daniel had been a Marine.  He had been stationed at Quantico at one point in his life.

During the demonstration, they wanted to lay wreathes at the Iwo Jima section to commemorate those brave men.  They were held back from actually being able to lay the wreathes at the memorial.  Instead they were told to lay the flowers at the fence erected around it.  The majority of protesters were not even able to go that far but were held back in a great show of force by the police.  (Us DFH's are so terrifying you know!)

Note:  There are those of you who hate Hamsher.  Don't open this diary then or else just suck it up.
